Intermitant Central Locking

Can someone please help!! My central locking seems to be intermitant. One minute it works and the next it doesnt. I havnt been able to detect a pattern or specific time it doesnt work and am wondering if there are any connections which are prone to coming loose that I can check. Its a real pain when it doesnt work so I want to sort it.

possible wiring fault/break where the door opens and closes, this is also a common fault with the electric windows intermittently working as well.
