Bongo leaning
My Bongo is leaning to the left. I have checked its defo the rear passenger side which is the problem. Does this mean I need new shocks?
Re: Bongo leaning
More likely springs as they hold it up, the shocks only stop it bouncing about.
You may have a broken spring.
You may have a broken spring.
Re: Bongo leaning
my old bongo used to do this but it had a side conversion
yours isnt converted by any chance
But if it is a spring thats gone, you are best changing both springs, ie both rears or both fronts

Re: Bongo leaning
you could only notice it from the front, well i could, it was only a slight lean, had the wish bone bushes done about a week beefore the accident, so it could have been them
, hadnt checked it after i had them fitted but the bongo seemed more stiff if that makes sense.
it was always like that so i persumed it was with the conversion

Re: Bongo leaning
No side conversion. It must be the springs then. Thanks for the advice.

Maybe you should try moving your nuts

Re: Bongo leaning
I noticed mine leaning a little to the left the other day, stupid question, would a broken spring always be obvious if you look for it?

Well it should be.

I allways dress on the right

i had 2 break on my old focus, but that was due to having them rubber things in the springs for towing, they were in when i got it, but it made the springs nice and stiff when going round corners so i left them in.

Re: Bongo leaning
It's actually quite common. Usually just the bottom of the coil spring - the broken off bit still sits in the cup. I've never come across one that breaks enough to show any difference in ride height, but think it must be possible.cheffy34 wrote:mp3oplecarrier wrote:I noticed mine leaning a little to the left the other day, stupid question, would a broken spring always be obvious if you look for it?

I thought mine leaned to the left.
Until I parked it on a flat car park one day and it looked okay, then I realised it was my drive which wasn't level.
