Clunk from front

Post by apole » Sat Apr 05, 2008 8:26 pm

Hi there,

I'm getting the occasional clunk from the front of my bongo, only when reversing round a corner. Could this be a bush or the brake pads?

Thanks guys.

Hi,

Thanks for your help. I'm hoping it's the brakes as per other posts as it only happens occasionally and I get no noises when driving over bumps etc.

I'm stuck with 2WD as mine is petrol.

Thanks again, I'll keep you posted.

Apole i got the same clunk only when you apply brake in reverse, i confident it's my drop links, or another bush

Sounds like the brake pads moving to me - nothing to worry about. You may get a similar clunk when you first apply the brakes going forwards again?

I agree with franco, movement of the pads as they are clamped by the brakes,it's no harm, and not dangerous in any way, if it makes you feel happier, you coud always apply more copper grease to the backplates of the pads, that sometimes dampens the clunk.
