No criticism or anything intended Harry I just didnt enjoy it at all!! Some people did some people didnt its a personal opinion. If I could have got out safely without getting stuck or disturbed others I would have left on Saturday am to be honest but thats me im afraid.

Again no criticism of anything or anyone intended apart from my opinion that it wasnt very good, what more can I say!!

No need for Pms its an open Forum.

We think a Wirral meet is a good idea too!
Is this to be in July?

I was suggesting May as the weather tends to be good and the roads quieter.

Some of the NW Godfathers are off the bonnie scotland for a week or two, taking in the Scottish bash but that shouldn't stop the rest of us stayathomes from meeting up.

Once you hit the holiday season( july/august) driving to nice places becomes a chore cos everyone else is heading the same way and its difficult to choose a date cos so many people go away for at least a week at a time so ruling out multiple weekend opportunities.

Anyone heard from Walter though, as the architect behind the Wirral meet last year? The Country Park venue made it such a nice meet I wonder if it would be the same if Walter isn't able to use his good offices to get us in there again

Yep...it was Ian's meet and although different from our NW format, I still thoroughly enjoyed myself, as did most of everyone else.

I just found the venue then hijacked Friday night for the NW jacobs join...although lots of us ended up in the NW marquee on Saturday night as well. I did miss our regular saturday evening communal BBQ though and couldn't afford the £3-50 glasses of wine when I usually pay less than that per bottle.

Perhaps I'm being ambitious trying to please everyone all of the time but we can only try then learn from experience what works and what doesn't. Thats why I've opened the NW suggestions box.

Given the large numbers now attending NW meets, it would be a ruddy miracle if everyone enjoyed every aspect but fortunately bongo members seem to have an infinate capacity for flexibility and accepting different strokes for different folks.....thats certainly why I enjoy the meets so much.

Dabs, DBO and myself kicked the NW meets programme off last year following the Tough Northerners in Dent cos we felt we could do better. We never realised it would grow into a monster in just 12 months.

The ethos is to enjoy a relatively cheap, fun weekend in good company...and so far we seem to have acheived this by keeping it simple.

So lets get back to basics....a nice informal get together...on the Wirral pehaps in May. Nothing fancy maybe only one night and maybe not even hookups

Don't forget Pete's meet at Stainforth and Dab's/DBO's/BDC's meet at Charity Farm. Both meets look like being great fun in the best tradition of NW do's
Hence the reason for this thread...so who's going to sort the Wirral meet out?

I think this is the secret Harry, the bigger and more involved it gets, the harder to make it a
success.Nice and simple the way they`ve been run is the best formula,in my opinion.

You cant shoot `em this time of year, they`re out of season

Eeek - just realised I'll be in Scotland (with luck) when the Big Three are in Scotland, so Wirral would be out for me in that case. Need three lives really to keep up with NW/Yorks agenda.

Have to admit I really enjoyed Cartmel. Apart from now being able to call myself a Tough Northerner in a Vest, it was great to meet people I might not have met otherwise. And as Pete said, the boys with me - as ever and thanks as ever to Mrs Pete - LOVED it. Its so good for them to be able to get out somewhere and run wild for a bit. And I don't mind the peace either 8)

You too will just have to get up in the morning in future, then more hours to meet up with fellow Bongo nutters
