fitting bmw e36 clock
now apologies if this is already on here but i have scourered through the posts and cant find it.
I have just treated myself to teh recommended clock and cubby from the bmw e36 (analogue clock) I havn't tried fitting it yet but looking at the back of the clock its a simple socket awaiting a plugin (was expecting 2 wires) so i was wondering if i delve behind the radio and around that area will i find the required plug to spring this thing into action or do i need to get this plug thing ?
cheers
- i hate not having a clock while driving !

Press the + or - to check for connection, the hands should start scrolling....

Re: fitting bmw e36 clock
I bought one of these of Ebay and connected it via the stereo connections, I used the perm live and earth for the clock and the switched live for the light so the light only came on when the ignition is switched, But what is seems to be doing is work fine until the ignition is switched then the dial lights up but the clock stops until switched off them the clock comes back to life, I have now disconnected the switched live and it works fine but with no light...??? any ideas??
Re: fitting bmw e36 clock
unfortunately after fitting mine i discovered the clock was faulty - hands would only move between 10.05 and 10.08 but it looks nice expecially during those 3 minutes each day !
i need the a new clock now - cuby is fine though !

Nobber, are you sure you've correctly identified the earth from the clock and that it is is connected to the earth of the van and not one of the live feeds?
Re: fitting bmw e36 clock
yes definitely and followed instructions as in the post - you can get it to click between tehse minutes but no more so i assume it must be a fault with the clock

Hi Chris
Think you're slightly confused, I wasn't referring to your post but Nobber's. Hope you don't think I was calling you a nobber
Does should like you got a duff clock unfortunately. Take it apart, maybe you can fix it.
