Brake Master cylinder
Hi all has anyone bought and changed the seals on the brake master cylinder? If so, where can you get them from apart from a main dealer and how easy are they to change? Also would it be better if i changed the whole master cylinder instead of just changing the seals?
Not done it on a Bongo but in general it depends on what the problem is and why the seal is leaking.
If is is a worn or damaged seal and the cylinder bore is OK then just change the seals BUT if the bore is pitted, worn or scratched you will need to change the whole unit.
If you know of a compatible master cylinder that would appear in UK parts lists (the Bongo is not often listed) you could try a good local motor factor.
Or if you can take the seals in see if they can match replacements from their stock.
