The tick over on my bongo seems a tad low as it occassional makes that judder noise when coasting and revs drop right off. My tick over is 3/4s between 0-1000 rpm. Im sure it used to be around 1000rpm.
Is it possible to adjust yourself like we used to on a carb or is it some wizardry done to the injection system?
Many Thanks
Ramsey
Can you adjust the tick over yourself?

standard tick over is 750 to 800. does it do it when you put on the aircon.
if it does then its most likely to be one of the vacuum whatjumicallits on the rail with the egr valve pipes on it. they are supposed to lift the revs up slightly.
mine used to drop down to 500 when i put on the aircon but i had a fiddle about with the wires and pipes and it started working.
hopefully someone else could put up some photos or explain it better for you.

Its amazing isn't it? Worth a fleet of mechanics. Its a fabulous site.
BTW I have never tried to adjust the tickover on my bongo, but on all other vehicles I have had (cars and bikes) I have adjusted it to the slowest possible above stalling. With the Bongo, its a diesel, and they start start so easily that I just switch it off. Its a bone of contention though.

tickover
I adjusted mine recently, under the drivers seat you will see the linkage, there is a long threaded bolt with nuts attached either side of a small bracket, which is at the end of the throttle cable. I adjusted these a little and it brought the revs up to 725-750 ish from 500 rpm. Careful not to over tighten the cable. Ticks over nicely now! Good luck.

When you do it make sure it's up to operating
temp as if not the tick over will be set by the
fast tick over device and with the air con off
the actual hot tick over is set by the thing that
looks like a small micro switch and as a wire
coming out of the back, when you switch the
air con on you should see the arm of the fast
tick over device move to keep the revs from
falling.

XX does hot tick over
A does cold start and air con on tick over
B it's a screw in the end does the winter pack cold start thing and
is best left alone
This is to the best of my knowledge if anyone knows better let me know.
