Uprated Suspension Ideas

Are the spring assistors from Towsure hard to fit does anyone know?

Easy peasy once you've got the weight off the suspension to spread the coils on the spring. The instructions tell you to heat them up in boiling water etc so as to squeeze in. I did this but probably didn't need to as there is plenty of room to get them in.

I ordered a set of Airlift from the States but got the wrong ones - i hadn't allowed enough for the taper at the bottom of the spring

Getting another set after the hols.

Oversteer is too much turning of front wheels in relation to input at the steering wheel,understeer is the opposite....

Slight oversteer is better for crisp handling at speed

Understeer is good for predictable smooth steering....as long as you aren't in a hurry!

if you want to see oversteer and understeer just sit in the back of my driving school car when Ive got some nice young 17 year old madman trying to drive like his mates on his first lesson, talk about clinging on with the cheeks of my arse.

I was always told the easy to remember which was which is -

With oversteer you hit the street light on the inside of the corner
With understeer you hit the street light on the outside.

I know it's actually possible to hit both street lights( or in my case, trees, piles of logs and forest drainage trenches

) , particularly with oversteer .
