Weird wires

Post by soonski » Tue Mar 25, 2008 10:16 pm

Does anyone have an idea as to what this could have been used for?

Image

I found the cables coming out underneath the glovebox, they look like audio leads?

Also in the back of the van there is this hole Image

with more wires underneath the carpet and also what seems to be stereo cable running up the side of the van and behind the dash. These are more than likely connecting to the cables in the top picture, but for what I wonder?

Cheers :? :D

could have been an amplifier for stereo or a changer of some type.
ours had a full tv system in it and there were wires all over the shop.

One connector is for an aerial, the other is a jack plug, some kind of tv perhaps? Any extra external aerials?

No aerials, just this stereo cable running up the guttering at the front of the van. I only noticed that as it started flopping around when driving on the motorway! But at least you recognise the non phono/jack plug as being an aerial connection so goes some way to explain it. Thanks!

Looks like leftover SatNav wiring...

Had a similar bunch of wires on my Bongo from the Panasonic SatNav/DVD changer which were all mounted under the middle row of seats.
Took about 1/2 a day to trace them all and disconnect properly. Didn't have the nerve to cut them off at both ends without knowing for sure. If your radio has been changed you may aslo find a load of extra wiring behind the dash which is to do with the japanese aftermarket equipment. We also had another complete set of speaker wires, a mini wiring loom for a motorised DVD player and some other bits I never did identify. Thos Japanese really love gadgets!
