tappetty v6 petrol bongo.will these hydraulic lifters fit?
hi,
as you may all know,i have a 2.5 v6 petrol bongo, which stood for 10 months before o bought it.it sounds quite tappetty, even after an oil/filter change.i`ve added various additives(engine flush, then hydraulic valve lifter treatment)and i`m going to give it a few hundred miles before investigating the engine.i found an online store that sells mazda/ford v6 parts, and they sell hydraulic lifters.does anyone know whether these will fit my v6 bongo?

thankyou

Who knows? The thread does mention a 2.3 litre which is not the same engine.
It's not worth chasing these items until you've sorted out why the engine doesn't sound any different with 2 plug leads removed
- it'll be a lot quieter when running on all 6 cylinders.

Hi,
I agree with John, it's best to first establish if all 6 cylinders are firing properly.
I'd also give it more time and miles to see how the treatments you have added work.
Does anyone know if you have noisy tappets if it is causing any damage to the engine or is it just annoying?
I personally hate having something wrong on a car and can see where you are coming from trying to get it sorted asap, but maybe in this instance it won't hurt to leave things a while to see how they pan out.
