another hour spent today swearing at this thing and it finally came off - i just couldnt get the strap round well enough from underneath so i too the two bolt out of the black plastic tray underneath so i could get a better angle on it - reckon it had been superglued on - anyway done now ! would have been impossible by hand.
by the way the new filter supplied by BF is a little shorter than the one i replaced - not an issue i know but i was wondreing if it would be the one from japan ? its about an inch longer and gold in colour - my bongo has been in uk for 3 years so i am thinking the filter has never been changed ?

Remove Fuel Filter
Remove any air pipes that are in the way, now remove the inlet and outlet fuel pipes from the filter, remove the two bolts retaining the filter body to the bracket, remove filter assembly. Now fasten back onto bracket upside down so filter is sticking upwards, now you can remove any wires and get a strap round the old filter bowl, use two hands, pierce it with a screwdriver or whatever you decide to do to get the filter off.
After fitting the new filter bowl then re-assembly is simply a reverse of the dismantling as the Haynes manual would say.
No more than 20 - 30 mins at most I would say.
