have i got remote central locking on my bongo?

Post by hogggman » Sat Mar 22, 2008 6:18 pm

hi,
in the glove box of my newly aquired 1998 bongo,i found a remote locking fob.all it says on it is`lock` and`unlock`and it has a battery inside which i changed.i cannot get it to do anything.where do i check on the bongo to confirm whether it has or has not actually got remote locking fitted?driver`s or passenger door panel?
as many of you will know,i bought this unregistered from a local dealer after it stood for ten months after being imported.if it has got remote locking,is it likely to be alarmed too?if none of the above, can anyone suggest a reasonably priced diy alarm/remote locking system?
thanks
jamie

remote central locking should be in the drivers door I think.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Our Bongo has Mazda remote central locking. Comes with a fob built into key

The other fob is the UK fitted after-market alarm.
