air horn problem

Post by hammond4 sheds » Sat Mar 22, 2008 6:08 pm

Help! My bongo has an air horn, and a yellow air chamber to power it,this chamber used to recharge every now and again(a loud compressor like noise- used to scare the poo out of my wife when it did it!),a few weeks ago we noticed a higher pitched compressor type noise, now there all the time, and the horn is not working!

Any ideas on how to remedy this,or is it terminal?

Is it a compressor to drive the air horn?
Is that all it drives?
Is it gonna blow up and kill us all?

Has anyone had this before and fixed it?

p.s. when the horn was working it was incredibly loud!!(even inside the van)

Thanks,Hammond4sheds

Sounds like a broken/split pipe between the compressor and the reservoir - you're not building up enough pressure to turn the compressor off.
