hold light flashing and no speedo
Whilst driving the Bongo today, the hold light started to flash, and the speedo stopped working. I presume the two things are connected rather than coincidence. It only happened once, the next time i turned it off and on again there were no problems. Can anyone shed any light on what the problem might be ?

Have you got a replacement dial on your speedo or a chip (it's chipped if the odometer reads in miles) - I believe this is a common problem with the speedo converter chip. There's loads of posts on here regarding this.

speedo and hold light
(I think the others are pointing you in the right direction The gearbox takes a signal off the speedo circuit board. There is a screw marked speedo which connects circuit board to the wire to the gearbox. When I got my Freda the hold light was flashing it was eventually traced to the printed circuit. In Japan they had connected the gearbox to a GPS which didnt work in the UK and removed the screw.
In your case it could be the input from the gearbox since the speedo and hold are faulty. The input signal comes from the sender at the back of the gear box check that is secure it is easy to check. Hope you solve it

This has happened to me a few times. I just pull over switch it off and switch it on again (and I don't work in IT) and it's been fine. It's usually happened when it's been cold / been standing a while / been driven a short distance, turned off and then started again after a short stop (paper shop). As far as I know it's to do with the speedo chip fitted to convert km to miles. There has been no ill effects and it's so rare I just put up with it.

I had the same on my Freda, it turned out that where the speedo had been chipped, the wires were just twisted togeather instead of being soldered thus it was a bad connection.
