Drivers window switch

Post by BonGoRANT » Fri Mar 21, 2008 4:41 am

Inexplicably my switch has TWO slots on the underside for TWO connecting blocks. However in the door (without removing the trim)
there is only ONE connecting block fed by SIX wires. I have looked around at numerous 323s and 626s but any switches I have seen are NOTHING like either my incongruous existing switch or block.
What should the underside of a NEW SWITCH look like?
I do not want to pay £121 for a new switch to find I have bought the wrong switch for the existing block

All the one's I've seen on Bongos are 1 block. 2 door mazda 323f has the same.

Mine's one block, I reckon you may have some sort of replacement, possibly just chucked in there cos yours was pinched on import to sell on ebay  Not that I'm cynical

I would concur.. or the original was replaced with what you have fitted now because it was probably thought faulty.
Check your wiring between the door & the body panel (there are other threads on this subject else where on the forum).

Drivers window switch

Post by BonGoRANT » Sun Mar 23, 2008 12:45 am

Found a 323 with electric front windows and manual rear. However the trim was black and the drivers window switch surround/panel also had the electric mirrors switch on it. Removed the panel and connected in my existing indoor window connecting block.
GREAT both windows are now working, cost £15 for a great afternoon out.

Hope to trim the black panel and discard the mirror switch section.
I may have previously missed this combined switch trim as I looked at nine 323s as I was searching for an "identical" grey switch and surround.
(instead of a compatible one)
Thanks you all for your input.
