v6 Hstill smoking after oil and filter change-am i paranoid?

Post by hogggman » Sat Mar 15, 2008 7:36 pm

Hi all,
the saga of the £2,000 bongo continues!it was smoking slightly, and sounded very tappetty when i`ve got it.i`ve been driving it around for the last week, with no problems, and today i`ve changed the oil and filter.first i used some wynn`s engine flush, and hoped it would cure the tappetty noise.now,it seems a bit quieter but seems to be slightly more smokey.i`ve only started it up and not driven anywhere yet.will the smoking settle down after a run,and is it normal to smoke after an oil change/filter change/flush?
the next step is to use some wynns hydraulic valve lifter treatment.will this also help quieten it?
thanks

No, it's not normal for an engine to smoke after an oil flush and drain, and new filter.
