a good vehicle maintenance course will teach you about 'calibrated thumps'......

these are essential for most electrical parts

I have just had to resort to 'legitimate wrenching' to remove a flat tyre on the van.... alloy welded to steel (should have put some copperslip on the back... but I was on a back road, it's raining... so I'll be kicking that whhel off too

.......... or maybe I'll take the wheel off soon, just to put some on

)

The whole thing is all frazzled and brittle. Looks like I am going down to Halfrauds and get some new connectorss!! Hopefully that will sort the problem. I had the same problem a few months ago . Took it to a garage in Truro and got charged £40.00. I know for sure this wire was not there before.

Spent 8 quid on connectors.
Connected this

Hey presto turned the key on the ignition [-o and she starts

Well done for sorting the problem. Can I suggest that you make a soldered weatherproofed connection rather than scotchlocks. They corrode hideously along with the cable that you've connected and you may find in the future you'll be back to square one! SCOTCHLOCKS ARE EVIL
