I happen to have the day off today.. I'm normally a "weekend warrior".
I would have loved to skip work & head to that meet in Tatton Park last Sunday for a laugh.

Result ! it was that switch so at leats i now know 2 things - 1. what all my switches do and 2. that the fans work as they should in the back.

i now just need to figure out a way of some how bringing the controls up by about 12 inches so they are accessible without being a contortionist !

Phew, thank goodness for that. I've relieved myself mightily - no, sorry I mean I'm mighty relieved

Onwards and upwards (with the heating controls) 8)

Great news!

I would think extending the wires for the fan speed switch would be the easy part..
The levers for the vent & heating control lead to a push bike style break cable arrangement and will give no play..
However it might be possible to disconnect these from the levers, mount on a bracket so the sheath don't move.. then using more cabling to extend the controls the 12 inches you require!

Hopefully someone else will jump in & save me with a better idea..

I did once repair the vent control in a similar manor on a Vauxhall Combo van once when the assembly broke behind the dash.
Same principle. (just a turn control, not a lever).
