leisure battery

Post by tay » Sun Mar 09, 2008 5:48 pm

hi all! want to fit leisure battery but main battery rating is only
72A/H.does this mean i have to change main battery so it can
cope with a 85A/H leisure battery connected via a split charge relay
set up thanks.

They are two separate circuits, I can't see it making any difference.

you can have any sized battery i think for your leisure battery , mine is a 110 amp leisure battery with a 85 amp main starter battery the split relay works only one way ,so when your main battery is full the split charge relay will then charge your leisure battery , but not the other way round ,if you see what i mean.
Lost without my Bongo.

dont worry about the size of the main battery.if you get a voltage sensing relay then it will only charge up the l/b once the mains charged up.
either willington or raw components on ebay sell them.avoid the towsure 30amp relay tho they blow under loading.also avoid any that are wired to the alternator as they can cause problems on the bongo.
