Loss of power and blue smoke

I have just picked the van up from the local garage after a small service and pre-MOT check.

New glow plugs (twil coil type)
Outer CV boot.
Oil change and new filter.
Rear stabiliser rubbers.
New rear exhaust section.
Rear brake pads
Air filter.

She starts really well now (was very lumpy from cold).
The problem is that when the engine has warmed up I am experiencing a bad loss of power when pulling off after slowing down and blue smoke belching from the exhaust until the revs pick up.
I've taken it back to the garage (after checking the vacuum and turbo hoses) and they're saying that it is a coincidence and will take a look at it.
It definitely wasn't happening before they got it.
Has anyone experienced similar symptoms ?
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Air filter/intake restricted in some way?
over filled with oil?
new rear exhaust section restricted?

Coincidence? How very unlikely. Blue smoke means burning oil. My money's on Kirsty's suggestion of overfilling with oil. Easy enough to check. If too high on the dipstick, drive it back to their garage, crack open the sump plug and drop the excess on their forecourt.

It's a too common practice at garages this. Lack of care and attention, mutter, mutter, rant .......

I see they fitted a new air filter. Take it out and try it.

And it can cause problems with diesels because if they start to burn too much they can rev up and rev up until they blow up, as the oil from the sump isn't controlled by the governor in the diesel pump in the same way as the derv supply is.

Many thanks for all your suggestions.
I've checked the oil, which is right on the full mark with the engine cold.
I've run the motor without an air filter and that makes no difference at all.
She's going back into the garage on Monday for further investigations.
They are a reputable business and have a good name locally but this means that they are extremely busy so things take time to get done.
Any more suggestions would be appreciated.
I'll keep you posted on what happens.

Does the exhaust have part number 1355 on it?

If so, it's a winter pack model and the valve is prone to sticking.

There's also a switch to the right of the steering wheel with the pic of an engine on it (I think

) which enables the system.

Have just picked the van up and the problem appears to be sorted.
No more smoke and power is back again.
The chap at the garage says that they blanked the EGR with a steel plate.
It does have a winter pack system but that appears to be OK.
Only one thing maybe worth mentioning is that the glow plug light used to come back on after starting, even after fitting of new plugs, it doesn't do that now.
THe same garage will do the MOT next week, so they are now familiar with Bongos.
