heater fan

Post by Mack » Fri Mar 07, 2008 3:37 pm

My heater fan seems to blow only when it feels like it. Any ideas for cause or cure?

If it only blows on certain fan settings the control unit (fan resistor?) has shed a couple of soldered tags.

My fan only works on number 4...I've replaced the unit once but its gone again which probably means that the fan motor is overloading due to needing maintainance.

Also check the drainhole below the centre of the windscreen. If this gets blocked water will run onto the electrics housing and cause the unit to fail.

good luck
