Blistering Paint?

Post by Jaime&Kirk » Thu Feb 28, 2008 10:21 pm

We have noticed that there is some flaking paint on the roof of our bongo. It looks like its been sanded down a little but can anyone suggest a solution on how to a) cover it up or b) stop it from flaking further

As a temporary repair, i'd suggest sanding the area using a lightish wet & dry paper... say 1000 grit? Just dry sanding.... Try to feather the hard edges of the flaking paint so it blends with the low spot, then build up layers of "touch up pen" primer, then base coat, (silver?), then laqcuer touch up pen.

I'm guessing the area is quite small? (bottle top sized?) A bigger area would need to be treated and spray painted as a localised repair, (blow-in).
