Interior Light

Post by BongoWende » Tue Feb 26, 2008 9:35 pm

The (original equipment) interior light in the middle of our van is stuck on, irrespective of the switch position. Does anyone know how to fix this or is it time for as new light unit?javascript:emoticon(':?:')

If you put your location in your profile, there is a possibility someone near you could physically help out.

I would suggest that your door switch is possibly at fault i.e. the light thinks a door is open and leaves the light on. Alternatively it might be the switch iside the light at fault which is quite probably repairable.Location would be good! :D

Welcome bongowende, i'll go along with chris, chances are the switch is sticking,or maybe one of the terminals inside the door have come adrift, and is arcing on the body? Hard to second guess really without a bit more info...

Even with a faulty door switch, the lamp should go off when the switch is in the "off" position. It sounds like the switch is faulty or there is a short in the lamp itself.
