daytime running lights

Hi Everyone
I'm still trying to stop my daytime running lights coming on and having no joy at disconnecting them. Can anyone suggest a way of dealing with this problem. I would like to be able to use my radio/12v socket when parked up but not have the daytime running lights on.

Just run a wire from the battery positive to the ciggy socket/radio and disconnect the present wire. Put a in line fuse in where it leaves the battery.
