Found answer to wheelcover in Awning Cost 20p Amazing

Post by B*Witched Blingo » Fri Feb 22, 2008 7:16 pm

Well bored today so got thinking How I could attach the Wheel cover without damaging the paint work?

Well here is my idea and it works.

Now all you need is this

and from the back

Yes the door opens and the cover stays in place

Mine needs to be bigger and grey to match the awning. But the prototype works.

All I used was the suckers for the fairy lights on windows or those silly signs that swing in the back windscreen (mums Taxi)

Hope this works for you...

Working on the skirt now as the fig of 8 is a tad too small.

Well. I remember caravaning and the draft that can come from the wheel when you sat in the awning. I have the skirt which is fine but the wheel is a big hole. So I needed to see how I can attach to bongo without straps.

I need something that will stay in place when the door opens. Heres that word again. " It's been Suckerized"

It dosen't foul the door and makes no mess of the paint work. I would probably suggest 3 little suckers for a better job. Oh yes and a bigger piece of plastic. Mines too small.

I must admit i haven't spent long enough in my awning to notice the draught, i'll make a mental note of this thread if the need ever arises to knock up my own skirt....
