I agree - the clips need to be up to the job (I assume its always best to replace them if you are going to the trouble of new hoses).
It just seemed that clips were not as readily available as the hoses - gap in the market etc.

Once we can figure out which clips go with which hoses, we will stock them individually, and as a set, in the Bongo Shop.

Hi I fitted a full set of hoses last week, i used stainless steel jublee British Standards kite marked clips, you req only 2 sizes of clips for the full set. sizes i used were 22-30mm and 35-50mm. Jubilee clips are good quality but use only zinc or stainless, make sure its to BS5315 AND it will be fine,ps you don't need to go mad on this also the gear box pipes are 10mm ID use flexable silicone, they radius fine if you need more info let me know...also the heater pipes to front matrix appear to be 16MM or to the pre decimal bregade 5/8, and both can be changed with a suitable piece of silicone hose ...yet again off ebay REMEMBER THE RAD IS PLASTIC ON THE FITTINGS DONT CRUSH THEM DOGGING UP TOO TIGHT!

There is also one hose (it pushes end way's onto block)which has a clip which is difficult to tighten ...I used a 1/4 drive small socket set which i connected 2 long extensions together, then positioned the clip so i could get a socket on it from the l/h rear. I also have a flexable 1/4 drive extension which looks like a big spring which would have done the job just as well..... Hope this helps in fitting this hose clip.

Sounds like good info to go on the compatible parts sticky at the top of the techie thread? :D

I need to check? as at work we use some silicone pipe for pumping out the genie access platforms Hyd tank, and have done for years?? i think i will cut a section out, and have a good look at the hose ...ps all genie access kit runs on dextron 3.... i have around 45 gallons of the stuff many thanks Rich

Just give the engine plenty of time to get warm, very satisfying when it gives a couple of nice big burps when using the funnel/seesaw type method. I gave it a BDC - hose in the header tank, engine running, bleed pipe open - flush for ages, then stuck a funnel in the bleed pipe to burp it, gave all the pipes a good squeeze, just to make sure. Took at least half an hour before I was happy - in a gauge watching kinda way 8-[

That's for the 9 hose set. So which ones are required for the 6 hose set?
