Hoses

Post by bongo rbk » Wed Feb 20, 2008 11:54 pm

Hi all i know that flippa is doing a set of hoses i believe its a set of 9??

I've seen these on Evilbay 270199892076 its only a set of 6...

I'm just thinking about getting a set but don't know if this set of 6 covers the main problem hoses?

Should i go for flippas hoses or these??

also anyone found anywhere to get a set of clips from???

Thanks as always Nic

I THINK THE SET ON EBAY ARE FLIPPAS ANYWAY. pm plippa, as for clips contact a firm called manflex from warrington they know all about which clips are needed for the hoses.

Flippa only does 6 at present They are tried , tested and seem to be very well thought of by all who have fitted them.I think that the Ebay ones you refer to are in fact flippas - -

Can't help you yet, but I'll be doing the same  as mine's about to go too, as long as the hoses & clips turn up & my back doesn't get any worse, it should be a busy sunday. I'll see if I can work out which clips are for the top hose & put the size up.

without checking i'm quite sure that all the large bore hoses (4) are covered by a 35mm-50mm jubilee clip........38mm-50mm may also be suitable

The kit from manflex is for the original 9 hose kit... Anybody that has ordered a kit from them with a 6 hose kit will discover they have some spares!

Surely flippa has missed a trick here - supplying hoses and clips. Save the customer a bit of hassle, and make a few honest pounds at the same time - just a thought.

Hi madmile, i was one of the guinea pigs for the silicone hoses, the actual clips were a bit of an unknown quantity at first, all the info we had on them was that they needed to be the best quality possible.

After discussing the matter with a mechanic friend of mine (runs a 700 bhp skyline) he mentioned manflex as a source of the clips, after being initially impressed with the quality, and the service from manflex,i posted on the original silicone hose thread some details on the kit i persuaded manflex to supply.

After a few teething troubles, the full kit can now be supplied mail order if need be....anybody can of course visit thier local halfords or wherever, and mate up the relevent clips, they could be a little cheaper, but they will not be as good a quality...
