mirror wires

Post by dreamwarrioruk » Sun Feb 17, 2008 6:06 pm

Just to save me time messing around with a multimeter, can someone with a wiring diagram tell me the colours whick make the mirrors fold in. in planning on setting them with my alarm so they close in automatically when set.

Sorry mike, i can't help with the wiring i'm afraid...

Would some kind of "total closure" interface need to be incorporated into the circuit for it to work?

Hi

couldnt you just use the extra switch wires from a 5 way drivers door actuator. could you not just wire them in parallel with the actual mirror switch ?

just a thought

:D

when i was looking into wiring my mirrors into the alarm, i thought about this also but didnt have the guts to try it, as it would be an expensive fix, if it burnt a motor out ect

watch this space, got a very clever man to make a box of tricks to pull in mirrors when you lock the bongo, hopefully prototype tomorrow.just finished fitting window closer as we speak, press alarm doors lock, windows go up and soon mirrors fold in automatically.

Mike - one thought, on a serious note. If your wing mirrors should happen to go dicky like mine, you might prefer them to stay 'out' so as not to aggravate them.

I'll get me coat....

with the way they park/drive up our street folding the mirrors is a definate requirement.the bongo may be thinner than some of the cars but ive already got a creased rear quarter where someone cant drive.couldnt afford to keep replacing wing mirrors.
i fold them in on my transit and they still hit that. it looks good so far with alarm. press keyfob and it all closes up.press another button and the bongo starts up and press another then the heater comes on. i must admit its not as fancy as the one on my transit. i could program that one to start up at a set time. ideal early winter mornings, start it up 10 minutes before i get up and go to it all defrosted and warm.however with the cost of fuel nowadays thats just a waste so just go out with the deicer and freeze before i go to work.
was looking at automatically opening doors but thats going a bit silly.

mike these alarms arnt too hard to fit. theres quite a few wires and ive had to call on a good friend to give me a hand. got waynes to fit some weekend.

Thanks Mike. I think my back going has taken the edge off my boldness as I can't manage bending over or working under dashboards much. Superb set up you have there though.

RoosterUK has said he'll fit one for me if I want to do it (and if he isn't worn out from endless Bongo work!) so may start saving the pennies - it never ends! 8)
