The manual specifally says DO NOT turn the aircon on! And I agree with it - when you put on the aircon the cooling fans on the radiator go on and cool it! If the radiator can't get up to temperature then the thermostat won't open properly to bleed the system.
There's also no reference to turning on the rear heaters - and I guess that's because they're always on

The airflow is controlled by an airflap.
So I can see no need to have the rear heaters on HOT.
