I went to Woodvale in 1986 to help out on the Society of Model Aeronautical Engineers stand (now the BMFA). It was a great event and I've always wanted to get back there but it ALWAYS clashes with the family holiday. Very annoying, but I'd recommend it to anyone as a great day out.

I remember (was it at Woodvale?) seeing the first ever model jet engined plane. It caused a real stir, but didn't fly that day due to techie problems. The guy who designed it was called Jackson I think (I remember he had a bad leg - your mate should know who it was). I only got to see a jet model fly for the first time a couple of years back, on a windy day at an airshow in Devon. Boy was I impressed. This thing cut through the wind like it wasn't there 8)

Well Mike you would be impressed by the model he is building now.
It is the first jet fighter bomber that was also aircraft carrier based in the Korean war, it's about 7ft long and there are plans to fly 2 of them as they origionally did during the war.

We need a volunteer to put together a meet for this one.

I'm reliably infomed that we could take on an exhibition area/stand ourselves or join in with another owners club for the weekend and be able to stay on site.

Anyone?

if not enough intrest, but a few still want to go,you can join up with the estima club and i will put you in touch with the events organiser who will order your tickets for the weekend, camping on the estima club stand ,at no extra charge, costs around £5/£6 for all weekend ,come and go as you please.
I will be willing to help anyone who wants to organise a stand for the bongos and will pass on all the info you need, plus a few tips for the free camping
I would happily volunteer to organise it,but am currenty tied up with the estimas at woodvale ,also i may have a wedding to attend that weekend so may not be able to make it myself, but would ensure you got all the help and info you needed.
It is a fantastic weekend at very little cost if booked through a car club, would be a shame to miss out.
Only problem we found was the lack of toilet facilities,1,000s of people attend so you can imagine the state of the portaloos, last year we hired our own portaloo, put it on our club stand were we all parked and camped, had to keep a lock on it to stop members of the public using it,cost around £80 for the weekend, but we had 40 membes and families attend so was well worth it.

Hi Paul, your club had some nice cars there last year. It would be nice if there was a line of Japanese imports from all the manufactures that didnt sell them in the UK, thoughts?

Pleeeeeese move the discussion about racing cars to another post/section.

This post is meant to be about sorting out a NW bongo club meet at Woodvale.

Harry, would it be an idea to get the converter companies involved.. Just to show off the major benefits of the vehicles..

Is there any advertisements/ promos of Bongo members and the daft things they get up to. Interviews with members to sell the club to new owners.

Master class on basic maintenance. How to change a wheel etc..

Picture Printing onto Bongo Tshirts..
