starter motor question

Post by waycar8 » Mon Feb 04, 2008 10:33 pm

with the starter motor, a standard is 2kw, and the one out of the winterpack is a 2.2kw both 12v............so

with the batteries running in parallel with each other in the winterpack so in theory the starter motor is getting 24v?, so why does the starter motor say 12v?

:? , is there some kind of a relay of somekind cutting some volts to the motor?

Only when two 12v batteries are connected in series, will the voltage = 24v.

I agree with Brora. Two batteries will be in parallel to increase cranking amperage I reckon
