Sounds horrendous - wouldn't it be cheaper just to buy a diesel - so many to choose from?

    why on earth would you want to ruin a v6 trust me the v6 is faster, quieter, smoother and cooler, who cares about fuel consumption :!:

The cost of conversion would far outweigh the fuel savings Just make the choice and enjoy :)

Would not the cost of converting a v6 to a diesel be better spent converting the V6 to LPG?

This would be a feasible proposition if you already owned a v6 version, and snapped the cam belt or whatever, and could pick up a decent diesel engine (for a gift of a price) to replace the stricken engine with... That's only if you were in a position to carry out the work yourself...otherwise, as others have suggested, it becomes an uneconomic proposition.

i have both at the moment and the v6 wins hands down no contest....really cant see why you'd want to mess with a quality motor....make a choice and buy either or both :D :D :D .....definitely recommend the import route though if you can buy through jim(bj4) all the better ...he had a nice v6 on e-bay not sure its still there ?28.000 miles try getting that here for under 5 grand ....mine went on the boat in japan on the 5th of dec and arrived on the 14th jan its now on the road taxed registered and insured ....if you need any info get in touch

You show off Kieran!

I hope you realize that since you bought a V6 bongo, i've had to wear ear plugs before starting my diesel, and make sure i've parked facing downhill,so that it seems quicker off the line... :?

At least i only have to buy four glowplugs, as opposed to SIX sparkplugs!

Jealous?.... Moi?.....

I gotta an idea BDC if you take of your bull bar & arches give em to me it'll make it a bit lighter then you can keep up with my v6, as to the noise dont bother with ear plugs just get it towed everywhere

   Aha, i fear it wont help cheffy, as i've had the bullbars re-moulded, and they are in fact carefully polished tin foil tubes, filled with helium...The wheelarches are in fact painted crisp packets, with a rare carbon fibre tape backing to aid rigidity....

My bongo looks like it has glass fitted....That's where i fooled you all, it is in fact, cellophane, with a smear of p.v.a glue to stop it flapping around

I have the lightest bongo in existence...then i ruin it all by getting in it
