MOT - Seat Belts

Post by pilajake » Mon Jan 21, 2008 9:02 pm

My 1st MOT is due tomorrow and I have reversed middle seats.
Do you have to have lap belts instead of seatbelts when the middle seats are reversed for the MOT or dont i need anything for the reversed seats :?:

Also I have a Removable side kitchen conversion .

Does this need to be removed and the seat replaced before the MOT :?:

Regards

I don't believe you will have a problem with seatbelts, as far as I know you don't need them with rear facing seats. Likewise the kitchen, although in theory you will have a seat less than stated on your docs, I don't think it matters, certainly mine went through with 5 seats when it should have had 8. I cant be 100% but if it were my Bongo I'd risk it.

Im pretty sure that when seats are reversed, they dont have to have belts.

I personally would like to get some sort of restraint for the kids if mine were reversed. But i dont think matters in an mot.

If you like im seeing my mechanic tomorrow who is a MOT tester, i could ask him for you and give you a pm if you like.

Looks like your question has been answered from the faithful

i was told at Bonnies MOT, seatbelts dont have to fitted in the rear, but if they are they must be in good working order.
