Check the small filter in the banjo coupling near the fuel pump
Sounds more like fuel starvation/restriction.
Ive done over 120,000km on my on my current glowplugs but had the odd problem starting as you describe with blocked/restricted fuel supply.
good luck

I seem to remember reading that some of the cheap glowplugs only last about a year, but 7 months ain't very good is it?
If it is glowplugs, you should have loads of grey smoke (unburnt fuel) coming out of the exhaust when it first struggles in to life.

I'd have thought they'd last longer than a year! I had 3/4 years of trouble free use till mine packed up some months back....
The plugs could well have been the originals.... (maybe that's why they lasted so long?)
It sounds like your plugs again lee... Where did you source them from?

Mazda don't make glowplugs - they just source lotsa bits and build a car

Apology accepted but I was only joking

I actually had to PM someone for help when I tried my username in the member's area - couldn't blame booze though, just another senior moment
