Just to continue the Japanese Wrestling theme here I too opted for Sumo Firenza ST08s on my replacement rims - 215/55 R17 98 all-round. Because the rims were only 6.5", I did not want to squeeze too wide a tyre onto them so went for 215mm. At that width, Sumos were one of only two or three possible choices with the necessary weight rating (ie >96). Pirelli P7 XL was another option but I did not fancy shelling out over £400 just 1 month before Xmas! I thought I would try the Sumos and see how they fared.... Ride and handling are good but after just 2 months it is too early to comment on wear rates.

Sounds like a completely sensible, logical decision to make...but there is an extra aspects that always has to be considered:
1. "Bongos Law of Shrinking Alloys" states that
" Any wheel-rim attacher to a Bongo(or freda) will always appear a minimum of 1 wheel size smaller than actuality"
Try it! - See ...you know its true
Ditch those standard 14" (?) wheels - go bigger (minus 1 of course) !
