Heater / Fan - nothing on position3

Hi,

My heater / fan has stopped working on position 3 only. Still works fine on 1,2 and 4.
Has anyone else had this problem and managed to fix it?

I have searched and have vague ethereal ideas about resoldering something in a relay somewhere.

PS - The drain holes under the bonnet have been kept clean so I don't think the heater motor has got wet.

If you take the resistor pack out and follow the instructions to split it open you'll probably see that one of the tabs has come unsoldered - that will be your fan position 3. Some people think that as well as a bit of a power shunt if the fan sticks, the connections are prone to breaking through engine vibration.

Resolder it and put it back in - should work fine.
