Fuel Guage Kaput !

Anybody have any experience with a fuel guage which isnt working?

Permanetly reads empty.

Plenty of threads on here about that, most of the time it's a bad Earth connection at the tank. Try the search and use... fuel AND gauge....

It's probably your sender unit. Do a search for sender AND unit and you will find lots of info.

Much appreciated. Only had the Freda a couple of days, and I love it !

I think I will look into underbody sealing. Is this money well spent?

I am near Chester if anyone can recommend someone to do it?

I know you can short out the wires to the sender unit (positive to earth on the connector pin). If (very slowly) the needle on the guage rises, then it is the sender unit at fault.

Had mine done a couple of weeks ago by Wheelquick at Wigan can recommend them. :D

Ok, so undersealing is a must then. I will organise it today :)

I will also have a bash at the fuel sender while Im trying to fit my DVD player.
