There are plenty that will argue that if the exhaust tip is sitting lower than the level of the water,then the exhaust will fill with water and the engine will stall...This need not be the case, if the speed of the bow wave is matched,the level of the swirling water at the back of the vehicle lowers significantly,plus, if a low gear is held, and revs kept up, the back pressure coming out of the exhaust will blow away most of the water from the exhaust tip, providing the entire pipe isnt completely submerged.

the engine is one issue, and as stated with correct technique, no issues.

but check the various breather heights (axle, gearbox etc), i have no idea where they are ont bongo, but when adapting a landie to wade beyond 700mm the breathers need raising too.
