Check the wiring loom where it comes out of the body into the door (both sides)...these flex contiuously when you open/close the door and sometimes perish/chafe causing shorts/window switch failure.

good luck

boy am i glad i was away trying to fix up my boat. i would have taken you up on a fiver for my old switch if i had been there and have seen a bidding war in my absence.

now i am getting the sloe gin and 7 quid, wow , who could have guessed.

HOWEVER i am also in possession of my own sloe gin in the garage so i shall hold out and see who is the first to offer me a pickled egg, curly whirly and a packet of salt and vinegar hula hoops.

or ill just sell it on ebay ;)

I have a canal boat i am trying to do up so sadly i dont have the time at weekends to do the van. i did have a very quick look for blatent damage and it all looked ok. the passanger side is now intermittently working but only via the passanger side control so maybe i have more than 1 problem here ????

now its weekday time again i shall have more of a fiddle and see what i can do. any advice gladly welcomed

checked the wiring in the door, i take it that 7 completly snapped wires are not a good sign.

ok it was the window switch and bad broken wires. not fair i had both i think. i am guessing the wires broke and the ape who had it before me broke the switch trying to get it to work.

anyway passanger side dont work but i can now control that from my side so all is good in the world of bongo windows.

next job is ..........
