Oil and Fuel filter change

Post by backtap » Sun Jan 06, 2008 12:32 am

Could some knowledgeble being tell me what oil and fuel filters I need and where I can get them from - i.e. Halfords, Club or bongo dealer? I'd like to have thm purchased before I attempt to change them.

I'm about to go veg having had to pay £1.15 a litre for derv when I can find it.

Thank you all...happy new year too.. :D

Hi Demios,
I get mine from Ebay as well. The last time I got a kit I bought a year's supply. It kept the postage price down and meant that I could change the oil and filters when I got the chance at the correct intervals without having to plan ahead. It worked well. There is a good fact sheet regarding changing the oil in the members section.
I live in Epsom and the price of derv is 106.9 at the local Sainsburys. I think the recent shortages were a glitch which has passed now.
Make sure you read the veggie fuel threads on the forum now winter is here, you don't want the fuel lines to be bunged up with gloop with an early morning start.
Cheers,
Tim

I would get the oil filter from a reputable supplier/manufacturer. Try your local motor Factor for a BLUE PRINT one
