Problems with reverse on an automatic

Post by madlec » Sun Dec 16, 2007 11:15 pm

Hi All,
Something wierd happened yesterday. We were on a road trip, and reversing out of a parking space was as normal when we set off for home. An hour later we pulled into a service station, and when I tried to reverse out of the parking space, the fuel pump fuse kept blowing and the reverse lights didn't even flicker. After an hour of the AA scratching their head, all they could do was help push us out of the parking space, replace the fuse and reccommend we get the electrics checked as they had tested the gearbox in drive with no problems at all. When we got home, I put it into park and noticed the reverse lights flash, so I tried reverse and it worked absoutly fine. Has any one got any ideas?

Haven't got a clue about your mysterious problem but welcome to the forum - I'm sure somebody will be able to advise when they get home from work.

Wounder if the fuel pump and reversing light are on the
same fuse and you have a short in the reversing lights,
go into reverse light blows fuse pump shuts down.
just guessing.
