sunroof on e bay

Post by bongo rbk » Wed Dec 12, 2007 11:55 pm

Theres a sun roof on E bay for a tin top, it says the motor and runners are there but the seller said no controls.

I've not seen any tin tops with a sun roof and was thinking of buying it and getting it fitted, but would like to know if anyone has done this?

Also where does the switch fit? and could one be found?

My BONGOLOW has a ruddy great electric sunroof - factory fitted with an internal sliding blind to keep the sun off the passengers when not required.

The switch is in the middle of the ceiling just forward of the sunroof between the rear aircon vents.

Can't say that retro fitting one would be easy of even feasable.

good luck

Ditto - I wouldn't even consider it.

Does your Bongolow have a big flat gap in the flutes on the roof? If not you couldn't fit it anyway.

Is the sunroof over the front passenger/driver's head or behind?

Behind - it starts aft (sorry) of the roof mounted air vents.

It's effectively directly in line with and about the same size as the sliding door.

Good luck rbk, i reckon it'll be difficult because of the ridges on the roof it will need flattening out , body shops dont like working in the roof line, leads to all kinds of problems. i had a new rear 1/4 panel fitted at someone ellses expense, the body shop wouldnt go near the roof line so chopped it in, worked out fine tho

It'd probably be less mither to sell your bongo, and buy one with leccy sunroof already fitted...You may be buggering up the re-sale value too, with it not being a factory fitted jobby.

Can you imagine all the wiring to mess about with too? I'd opt for the electric relaxation of puttting up your feet instead... (we dont get much sun anyway  )
