As far i i know there are only three people testing the hoses ,one of them being me and one bigdaddycain, and flippa himself, there may be others i don't know.
I may have given the wrong impression when i said the hoses bought from flippa, in fact he has asked us to test them, and when and if we are satisfied will we pay for them. He wants to make sure they fit and work as they should.
So far i am very satisfied and all seems ok, we are still testing them under different driving conditions.
FLIPPA DOES NOT WANT TO TAKE CHANCES WITH THE HOSES UNTIL HE IS SURE.

I'm paying for my set also, and i'm sure flippa will confirm that i will give my honest opinion on forum about the hoses,be it good or bad.
He has confidence in his product, and all the mechanics and people in the know have commented on them looking like a quality piece of engineering.
At this VERY early stage, things are looking good for these hose sets, testing continues...
I did a standing test this evening actually, where i left the bongo ticking over for over 3 hours constantly (with my beady eyes watching everything carefully)
Nothing bad to report, all's well so far.
I have nothing to gain for promoting this product,i will report as i find...
I'm planning on using the bongo for work tomorrow night (as long as the gritters aren't out) so that will mean 6 hours of constant running,in various conditions... I'll be watching the coolant alarm like a hawk, and checking the coolant level as often as i can.
Keep your eyes peeled for me warrington bongoers!

On the basis that the Mazda ones usually last about 8-10 years before any problems other than wear - how long are people intending to test them before issuing a verdict
.
In all seriousness, they look good, are priced well, but what more can you do apart from get on and fit them. If some one has one fail then it could be just one of those things.
Well done flippa - an interesting sideline assuming you dont trade in bongo stuff other than this

clogger keep looking im sure it will be worth it ....i really should source some shouldnt i
....although would they be expected to be thrown in as a freebie
.....no decent ones on e-bay
....maybe contact big -d he may have a better contact route to this guy at manflex
madmile your assumption made me laugh
....as you say i can't wait ten years
.....with the feedback so far and everyday that goes by the confidence in these hoses is growing
......

Well you have to make assumptions - I have not seen you mention anything commercial before, and many people post as joe public even though they have a trade interest in a particular forum. But I couldnt help wonder what made you think ' I know, I wont just get some done for my self - I'll order a 100 sets
' . Saying that its the sort of thing I would do, but then again I do class myself as certifieable on occassions
.

For the firm that's made them, there had to be a big enough order for them to set up all the loulds and jigs.
The initial cost of set up is expensive, so to spread the cost there needs to be a substantial order to cover costs.
This is my view, as when I have had metal brackets made at work, this is the scenario there.

spot on madmile it was a moment of madness
...which i thought was quite apt been a bongo owner.......like dbo and rooster says there were minimum order quotas.....what was really driving me mad though was meeting dead ends trying to find the rubber at a better price....i think i may have found it since though

i think your idea to supply the hoses and fittings as one package is a winner,
it is a load less messing about considering it was meant to be bdc`s contact i was going thru, and could`nt be bothered to get back to me (no disrespect to you bdc, love your new advert by the way)
price of them together is still gonna knock spots of the mazda price
and as the clips are going to be 10 years + old on most people`s bongos
makes a lot of sense
oh well looks like i am off for a little wander down warrington tomorrow

Manflex - they must buy them from a trade supplier The only advantage to be gained from buying from Manflex is that you get the tailored pack which saves you hassle .If he is giving you grief by not responding then lets move on and find a better source of supply. He obviously does not seem to be geared up to deal with 100 demanding Bongo owners . Some folk run a better business than others and by the sound of it things will only get worse as more folk are directed to him. Sounds like he is a fitter ,not a supplier
We just need the specs / sizes of a standard set of clips suitable for fitting the hoses posted on this forum and folk can go off and source their own .We can then post suppliers details and prices so that others can benefit
