Thule roof bar instructions please

Post by alan.c.hughes » Mon Dec 03, 2007 9:50 pm

Does anyone have an instructions for removing the Thule roof bars ? I've recently bought a bongo with them on and would like to take them of over winter. Ta.

Also I'm fitting an alarm but I'm not sure where to get the best earth connection near the ignition Any tips on this ??

Thanks for any help.

Not sure if your thule roofrack is the same as the one I'm thinking of...if so, you lift the cover from the side of the legs, slide the top bar out and undo the bolt.

Thanks for your help, I apreitiate it. It sounds right. I'm sure it's easy but I've never used them before and I think mine are a bit old and bent.

Best way to earth an alarm is to fit a ring connector to the wire(s) and bolt it to the body of the vehicle. Clean any paint away first so you get a good connection. Avoid using self tappers as they have a tendency to work loose. I usually look for an existing hole and use a nut and bolt with a shake proof washer
