think they are called enduro's, was sceptical at first but the chap there seems to know his job well (wether that tyres or selling im not sure).
cheapest branded tyres they had were falkens for about £96 a corner but i went with the enduros. did about 300 miles on em this weekend in our hideous weather and they seemed fine, their extra load jobies with directional tread pattern.
im no expert but they seem fine to me. just have to wait and see how long they last now :S

I still have to put tyres on my RX8s - probably going to go for 245/45/18, but they just seem so massively wide compared to the mazda 17 inch wheels I have used a few times and a bit worried they might rub - may take the plunge soon to bling up my own van
On a serious note, unless you dont know what the load ratings should be and they are not marked on your door shut or in your handbook then I dont think there is any excuse for actually buying one of a lower rating. It is almost certain to invalidate your insurance if the worst happens.
The good news is that apparently more tyres are being made 'extra load'to cope with larger vehicles and to make them more versatile.
