Front bumper removal

Post by simsterxx » Sun Dec 02, 2007 5:46 pm

I thought I'd 'whip' the front bumper off this weekend and attack the rust that had formed behind. Easier said than done as most of the screws underneath has rusted clean through.

2 hrs and a tin of Hammerite later, the front end was looking a lot better - but I now have the task of re-attaching the bumper...

My question is - can I get hold of a new/reconditioned complete set of nuts, screws and fastenings so that I can get the thing back in place?? If not, I'll just have to do the best I can with the rusty ones I have and try and drill out the seized bolts etc...

Oh and I also noticed the outer CV gaiter was split - so much for the dealers' 50-point check last weekend!!!

Thanks in advance,

Simon

it's a job i need to do, probably have to wait until next spring now, get the intercooler cleaned out at the same time & increase the size of the intake. Let us now how you get on with reusing or replacing the fittings. Hope you're gonna take it back to the dealer to get the cv boot done, give it a good check over of all the other points they were supposed to check as well :?
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
