That is a really interesting point scanner. As the world changes and we are asked to think more carefully about repairing and recycling stuff, you would hope to see the kind of mechanic who can do a job like that prosper over the 'throw it away and get a new one - oh and here's the bill' mentality that seems to underlie why main dealers are so mistrusted. It will be interesting to see if Pete's old alternator is restorable (and subsequently resellable of course!)
If he wants to send it to me...........................

Also thank you for sending an extra £4 for the postage, not many people would have done that, thankyou.

Just to clear this up.............I sold Keiran the spare wheel wich for a tenner +£2.50 p&p, when i took it to the PO, the postage was £6ish, so he sent an extra £4, that i didnt even ask for.

Its been said many times b4, but the people who ive met and not met (if you know what i mean) Through buying my bongo is amazing.

Pete.............glad your up and running and can make the Buxton meet.

Also, thank to daveblueozzy, bigdaddycain and roosteruk for offering there spacesavers free of charge not like somewhere else where you can get em for £45, i have now sorted the 3 i needed, from a swap with clogger and one off dreamwarrior and 1 off peglegpete all of whome delivered them to my house free of charge

Thanks everone, Wayne

Well what a lovely afternoon  Clogger and Ethan and myself had a mini bongo convoy over to waycars  Found Dreamwarriour dismantling the roof from Waynes stricken Bongo  Had the passengerside rear light cluster fit by Wayne and Dream fit the alternator, Amanda supplied the hot drinks, many thanks to you all, met MrMonkey too  What a great forum, so many helpful people, One alternator replaced in record time and when I returned home checked the battery, fully charged  I am taken note on advice on battery and replacing with one of higher amps  unipart here I come  Thanks also for the airfilter clips and belts. It was sad news when we heard of Waynes bad luck with the accident, at least parts have been salvaged and put to good use

Waynes old girl will never die.
She is living on in spirit in other peoples vans.
The green goddess is dead... Long live the green goddess.

Wayne's crashed bongo, is like organ donation for bongo's.
Recycling at its best, from a very bad experience with no one hurt thank God. :D
To breathing new life and hope into sick and ailing bongo's. Wayne is the surgeon cutting and taking bits here and there to fix the sick. :D
All he needs now is the good fortune to buy the bongo of his dreams, and hope and pray he does not need any of the bits he has sold. :D

(ESPECIALLY THE HEATER FAN HE IS SAVING FOR ME)

Fantastic news. Has anyone taken pics of Waynes amazing donor operation. Since it seems ther a lot of Bongo owners who don't 'do' the Forum, it would make a great little story in the next printed newsletter?

Mango is benefitting from Waynes donor enterprise. She's hoping to have 2 folding wing mirrors again for Christmas. Aaaaaaah!

Gotta ask by the way. How did you get on lifting off and AFT and how did you manage to transport it? Not stuff for beginners I wouldn't have thought! Just thinking about it is making my back start to twinge!!
