Is your van a manual :?: as the autos have their gear selection next to the gearstick.
If I had all the money I ever spent on my Freda ............ I`d spend it on my Freda.

Gear display on the dash??? :o Is that something only found on later models? Mine's an "N" reg., and I am wondering now if my display is faulty too, or whether earlier models didn't have one. :?

We looked at a lovely cream s reg one at reading.
It had a little display near the fuel guage to show what gear was selected.
Saves moving your eyes to the gear selector. They had low fuel warning too.
Very modern and super.

Never ever thought about it... Every auto I have had for the last 10+ years has had one, as has our Bongo.

My 'N' Reg doesnt. The Bongo is the first automatic I've owned and I must say I don't feel handicapped at all by no indicator on the dash

The gear selection indicator in the dashboard seems to be late 97 onwards models. Along with low fuel warning light.

I'm a pauper with just a gear position display next to my shifter... :(

Mines a 1998 automatic jobbie. It has a gear select display on the dash. Don't know about the low fuel warning light , will have to keep a look out for it next time I am driving arround in my Bongo.

Phew! I'll just go back to being quite contented with what I've got then. Just didn't like the idea that something should have been there and it wasn't.
