Brake pad size

Post by timhum » Wed Nov 14, 2007 5:20 pm

I had to replace the brake carrier and caliper on the rear offside and sourced one from a scrap Bongo. The carrier fitted perfectly but my mechanic says that the pads do not fit the calipers! The same pads fit the nearside caliper perfectly but the new caliper seems to want brake pads a "little bit bigger", says the man.
Has anyone come across this before? Brake pads not fitting, that is.
Yours in confusion,
Tim

Hi Tim
Did you see the Bongo they came off, or were they posted to you? It may be that they were from the 2 litre Bongo if you didn't see it
Cheers

In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.

Hi Helen and Tony,
Thanks for getting back to me . Funnily enough it is John Black who is working on this for me. I think that the situation is resolved now. There were some missing parts on the replacement item which will make all the difference.
He is coming over tonight to (hopefully) fix it.

Nice to hear from you, are you on broadband yet?

Cheers,
Tim

Hi Tim
Yes, we've got a decent broadband now. Everything else is very ...middle-ages.......the electricity and water are subject to cuts, and the locals just shrug their shoulders....we've got a sort of road to our house, but a lot are like mud tracks....it's like living in the land of the Hobbits....we love it.
Nice to hear about John Black....he's an ace!
Keep in touch, or P.M. us
Cheers
Helen
