dipstick

Well I feel a bit like one asking this question, but I don't know which reading to take.

When I look after the bongo has been stood for a good while the oil level reads max, but when I take it straight after the engine has been running it reads minimum.

Could do with some advise.

After a run leave the engine for about 15 minutes before checking the oil. This allows time for all the oil still in the top of the engine to drain down into the sump.

Yep - always "cold" and on level ground, as on any form of slope can give widely different readings.

Whilst on the subject...The oil level on my dipstick becomes really hard to make out if i fill it over 3/4 full ( no double entendres please  )

No probs at half or just over, but if i stick in another quarter of a litre, the reading is illegible.

Anybody else suffer from this querk?

Also don't mistake which dip stick is for the oil... under the passanger seat. The one under the drivers seat is for the auto box.

No I didn't make that mistake

Unless you have a V6 Bongo, whereby the dipstick is under the driver's seat, but the filler cap is under the passenger's seat.
